Stamped on the brass mechanism is'G. 32', indicating it is a Gordian Hettich Sohn which is one of the smaller Black Forest manufacturers founded in 1836 although as it is GHS it is post-1880. Clockwork and cuckoo mechanims Iin full working order including sound via two air bellows. Needs to be wound once a week.    Vintage Swivel Office Captains Banker's Chair. The seat height is 16.1/2 inches (42cm). The seat is made from a single Oak, Elm? Plank, which probably dates it since large timber like this is rare or unobtainable now in Britain, the swivel part is cast iron. Sorry it does not raise or lower or tilt!    This charming handmade bureau had been left in a shed and was in a pitiful state when it came to us, but one look at its sad little face and I knew it was worth the work to revive it into a piece which can be loved for decades to come. There were many repairs and a lot of prep to be had here, but once that was out of the way we got onto the fun stuff.    The story of these cinema seat. We drove a couple of hundred kilometers and found this old building where they already started the work on the old walls and floor. While checkin out the chairs the lady gave us some information of their origin. She said that these chairs were originally fitted in another town's cinema not far from this place which was built in the early 50s with these seats.
