Plank, which probably dates it since large timber like this is rare or unobtainable now in Britain, the swivel part is cast iron. Sorry it does not raise or lower or tilt!

There is a fine crack that has opened up on the backrest, probably due to the the changes in temperature and humidity over the summer; see photos. CASH ON COLLECTION ONLY PLEASE.
