Very Pretty Antique / Vintage French Marble Topped Bedside Cabinet/Pot Cupboard. We have just brought this back from our French holiday home. It was bought from a local antique market near to Saint Jean d'Angely in the South West region of France.

It is a very pretty bedside cabinet that is in generally good overall condition. It has a slab of dark red marble on the top which has some lovely patterns in it. The shape of the marble mirrors the curved / fluted shape of the cabinet top. There is a singular drawer beneath the marble top, and then a cupboard beneath that. The cupboard is fully marble lined, although this is stained from use over time.

The rear of the cupboard door has lost some of the decorative veneer. There are of course marks as would be expected for an item of this age. Also with it being an old French piece of furniture, it has the almost obligatory woodworm holes that are found in almost every piece of French furniture of this era.

We have however just treated the cabinet again before preparing it for sale. We have photographed the cupboard both indoors and outdoors to try and capture the best overall representation of its condition. We have recently applied a new coat of boiled linseed oil to enhance the overall sheen.
