This is a pair of lovely mid century beech armchairs, designed and made in Central Europe in the 1960s. The wooden frame and arms are in excellent structural condition, with a few signs of wear, consistent with their age. The upholstery is original and is in need of replacement.    A pair of mid-century bentwood armchairs, designed by Jaroslav Smidek and made in the former Czechoslovakia. This particular design - 6951 - was created as a submission to a competition run by TON in the 1960s. It was put into production and was very popular; it remains a much sought-after design to the present day.
