Unusual shape wooden box, probably Italian dating from the 1940s/1950s. I have seen this style referred to as Tunbridge or Sorrentoware but I cannot confirm. This would originally have been a cigarette box but now has a lift-off tray for jewellery instead, plus further space in the base. There is inlaid decoration everywhere except the bottom surface. The top is mostly covered in a micro mosaic pattern in a number of colours. There are two drawers accessed from the front. All storage areas are lined in brown material.
