I got this at an estate sale over 20 years ago. Not sure whether this antique/vintage piece is Asian, Scandinavian or English, but based on my internet searching, I'd say it resembles more the English style than any other. Overall height is 6", 4.5" at the shoulder of the "apple". The "stem" is a separate piece of carved wood, inserted into a hole in the top. I don't know what kind of wood it is. I know these are sometimes made of fruitwood, but I just can't say.

APPROXIMATELY 97.5 cm OR 38 1/4" WIDE AND 31 cm OR 12" HIGH. THE WOOD IS APPROXIMATELY 3/4 THICK. THE CARVING IS ABOUT HALF WAY THROGH. MINOR AGEING AND WEAR ON ONE END AS SHOWN.
