Superb vintage French Louis carved oak wardrobe with shelves, flat pack armoire

New into our depot and dating from the mid 20th century, This is a very good quality French carved oak armoire, with a small, and large hanging section, as well as a shelved section. The paneled doors are prettily shaped with lovely decoration, and the armoire stands on beautifully carved cabriole legs.

The sides are constructed from fielded oak panels. The lock escutcheons are pretty and the door locks and keys work well. It offers a massive amount of hanging and storage space.

The top sweeps up in a dramatic bow shape which is topped with a gorgeous carved centerpiece. It was built 40-50 years ago in one of several cabinet makers shops in the Ardennes region of northern France. This type of French vintage furniture breaks down easily to accommodate tight access and bolts back solidly together when in place with steel bolts. It's a traditional French method of furniture construction which became popular over the last 2 centuries as apartment dwelling became more frequent in French cities..
