Lovely Antique / Vintage French Marble Topped Bedside Cabinet / Pot Cupboard. We have just brought this back from our French holiday home.

It was bought from a local antique market near to La Rochelle in the South West region of France. There is a singular drawer beneath the marble top, and then a cupboard at the bottom of the piece. The handles match but don't appear to have the same age as the rest of the cupboard so have probably been replaced at some point in time. It is a pretty bedside cabinet with a lovely marbled top that is in generally very good condition. The marble on the top is probably best described as black with grey swirls.

This is in very good condition. The wood we think is probably walnut. There is some lovely wood grain throughout the piece. The drawer however looks to be made from Pine or a similar white wood, with a dark wood (probably walnut) front. Similarly the base of the cupboard also appears to be Pine.

Overall the condition is good, however there are of course marks as would be expected for an item of this age. Also with it being an old French piece of furniture, it has the almost obligatory woodworm holes that are found in almost every piece of French furniture of this era.

We have photographed the cupboard both indoors and outdoors to try and capture the best overall representation of its condition. We have recently applied a new coat of boiled linseed oil to enhance the overall sheen. Due to the size and weight of this item, we would prefer for it to be collected from the Guildford area (GU2).
