Vintage/Antique Marble's Gladstone Mich, U. 10 With The Original 16'' (actual length is 16-1/4 long) Hickory Wooded Handle. Very nice vintage MARBLE'S Made In The U. 10 with the original beautiful hickory handle. The axe is in as found condition, I have done nothing to clean it, repair it or restore it. The axe head still retains some of the original "RED" paint on the head, especially around the MARBLE'S embossed name (see pics). Speaking of the makers mark, it's nice and clear, and deep (see pic #2). The cutting edge has some very very minor chips and nicks on it (see pic #11). The poll end does have some "HAMMER" marks on it, and is missing a small piece of steel around the nail puller hole, but does not have any mushrooming at all (see pic #10). The axe head has some scrapes and dings on both sides of the axe head, which is common on a vintage/antique axe head such as this one (see pics).

The axe head is securely mounted to the original handle, not loose at all. The handle also has a beautiful worn in patina finish to it, along with a great looking scroll-end knob at the end of the handle (see pic #12). The axe is 16-1/4 long. The axe head is 5-3/8 long. The cutting edge is 3-1/8 wide.

The axe weighs in at 1 pound 13.4 oz. Over all this is really a nice looking Made In The U. A MUST FOR YOUR COLLECTION..
