This is a vintage Ottoman - Persian area large wooden box that is inlaid with a micro mosaic pattern on the outer lid, inner lid, and outer sides.

Looks like a souvenir box that once held gaming pieces, cutlery, or food. The micro mosaic pattern is hand done and is very fine, made into star shapes etc. With pieces of shaped mother of pearl and black, white, and red stained wood. It is lockable with a key present. There is a label inside branded Z. Normal signs of age as use wear. There are a few pieces of the mosaic missing from the surface, the worst part is in the centre of the lid as photographed. One of the hinges is loose so the lid feels a bit uneasy when opened. Honestly, the hinges are too small for how large this box is, the lid is too heavy for them.
