A fabulous pair of hand carved wooden bookends dating from the early to mid 20th Century. They are likely continental in origin and depict a traditionally dressed couple, the female holding a basket and the male smoking a pipe.

Seems to be in good order throughout, there is slight wear on the arms, difficult to picture as its faint, the fabric generally is in good order, thin in places, a small rip in one corner if you push down on the seat base hard, the gold leaf paint is in tack and has some light chipping, structurally the sofa is perfect.
