I was told it is Karelian Birch Burl Wood. I do not have origin information and not sure of the specific wood. A small wood chip at one side at top (dovetail hinge area). You can see detail in photos 18-20, it does not affect functioning of the case.

Condition: the doll itself is in good condition for its age, the dressing on the doll has wear and tear all over as pictured. Here is an awesome Henry L. Hanson Ace wooden display case for Taps & Dies. It appears to be a counter top display with a hinged lid. (it does not have the glass in it). It measures 18" X 13" and 9" at the tallest and 4" tall at the shortest. It has a door in the back for storage. It's rare to see these pop up with all the product holders and graphics. All in all a solid example and wonderful vintage display piece.
