Rolex 18038 18k Day-Date Model! Up for sale is an authentic vintage 1. Rolex 18k gold 18038 model Oyster Perpetual Day-Date with Spanish day wheel and RARE wood dial. The watch is in a 36 mm 18k yellow gold case, and will fit 20 mm straps. The case appears to have been polished, there are some light scratches, and wear on the underside of the lugs from the original bracelet.

The dial is marked: Rolex Oyster Perpetual Day-Date Superlative Chronometer Officially Certified T Swiss T. There is some dust under the crystal - see photos.

The crystal is perfect, no scratches or chips. The serial number of the watch is 5508XXX (dates to 1978). The model number is 18038. The model and serial numbers are clearly readable between the lugs. The watch is slightly stiff to wind and set.

The date trips properly at midnight, but the DAY of the week starts turning at 9pm and finishes at midnight. Servicing will resolve these minor issues. We do not know the service history, and we do not guarantee the time keeping accuracy of this watch.
